Experienced professional Alaska fly fishing guides are the heart and sole of our business. Owner/Headguide Charlie Summerville has been in the trenches guiding as an Alaska fishing guide since he was 19 years old and guiding fly fisherman in Bristol Bay Alaska for the past 27 seasons. Charlie still guides 3-4 days a week, so he never forgets were he came from and keeps his pulse on the daily fishing conditions. Alaska Adventures knows the true value of a professional fly fishing guide. Charlie has earned his guides respect by being a leader and expects the highest standards and conduct of his fellow professional fly fishing guides.

Capt. Don Kingsley

15 years guiding Alaska -20 years NY

Born and Raised in upstate New York Don has been guiding fishermen in both Alaska and NY for over 20 years! In the fishing community Don is looked to by many to have achieved legend status. Alaska Adventures staff and guides look to Don as lodge  Senoir guide and all around goto man. He will tell you with his humble tone that he does not know anything, but don’t let him fool you; Don has guided on the lower Alagnak River boondogin’ and backtrolling the tidewaters for fresh kings as well as being an expert fly fishing guide on the upper Alagnak Braids. His boat always comes back to camp with huge numbers and there is no secret why. Don is a retired Master Electrician and runs Alaska Adventures keeping the infrastructure running smooth. In the off season Don continues to guide on the Salmon River for Steelhead and Salmon running his own guide service called Tight Lines Guide Service out of Pulaski, NY.

Capt. Justin Bleicher

10 years guiding Alaska- 17 years NC

Raised in the Outer Banks in Eastern Carolina Justin holds an undergraduate degree in Geology from Eastern Carolina University. Justin is a duck hunting connoisseur and a world class waterfowl guide. With over 15 years as a professional guide Justin has a background in commercial fishing and has more boat time than can be counted. Probably the kindest individual you will ever meet, Justin is an important part to Alaska Adventures. Justin is dubbed Head Captain and shuttle man moving both clients and gear up and down the river rain or shine. A fine boat captain and guide Justin will make your gut hurt with his hilarity, charm you with his southern hospitality. Your arm will hurt with the amount of fish you will catch.

Capt. Patrick McIntyre

12 years guiding Alaska -15 years Northern Ca

Raised in Northern California, Pat spent lots of his time fly fishing for steelhead and trout. Pat’s attention to detail and enthusiasm for fishing make him a great fly fisherman and wilderness rafting guide. Who is Pat? Pat is a professional outdoor action photographer following speed skiers down mountains at mock speed, a past bungee cord business owner insuring safe jumps and a extreme skiing competitor flying off snow capped cliffs. With the drive to be the best and his competitive nature Pat is becoming one of Alaska Adventures most well rounded top fly fishing guides with a bright future. In the off season Pat can be found filming the winter Olympics with NBC or extreme skiing in Canada as he is a world class extreme action camera man with many skills.

Capt. Pete Micol

9 years guiding Alaska- 20 years Michigan

Pete holds a Masters degree in education,Raised in Northern Michigan Pete was a school teacher 1st and then became a professional Fly fishng guide.  Pete spends Sept-April guiding on the Betsy River in Michigan at www.petesflyfishing.com  spending lots of his time Spey  fishing for steelhead and trout. June -Sept he graces us with his guiding skills with the 2 hander.

Capt. Russell Owens

5 years guiding Alaska -10 years SC

Raised in South Carolina, Russell started fishing at a young age along the coastal waters and inland rivers . Today he is a very well rounded fisherman as well as Waterfowl hunting guide. In his spare time he is learning to fly planes and is an accomplished Decoy carver winning numerous titles and blue ribbons.

Capt. Phil  Sanfilipo – Wildlife Naturalist

10 years guiding Alaska

Phil is our Chief Naturalist and Bear Viewing guide In the off season Phil works in the office helping charlie with the Web and marketing duties, He  can be found filming wildlife in Florida and other warm destinations in the off season. Waiting for the bears to show back up in Alaska from their winter snooze.

Chad is a professional fishing guide who comes from the North Ga mountains. He has Worked full time in the fly fishing industry  for 18 years with his guiding exploits covering Ga,AK,NC, and Florida and the Carribean.  Chad owns and operates ChadBrysonfishing.com in the off season fly fishing NC-GA .

The professional Alaska fishing guides that work for Alaska Adventures come from all over the US to include Montana, Florida, North Carolina, Upstate NY ,Ohio, Arizona and Washington State, they represent a vast knowledge of some of the best fisheries in the country as most of them are professional year round guides that work in Alaska during the summer and guide elsewhere in the off season. Each professional guide is a United States Coast Guard licensed boat captain, fully trained in CPR, first aid, water safety, and has the technical skills to teach Alaska fly fishing classes, fly tying and casting clinics nightly at the lodge or just rig your terminal gear correctly.
